1. Survey Office Setup & Preparation
First, AIR Ltd established a dedicated project office to ensure smooth execution. We fully equipped the workspace with modern communication tools and specialized phone-based survey software.
2. Kobo Toolbox Questionnaire Design
Next, our expert team designed a tailored Stated Preference (SP) questionnaire using Kobo Toolbox. To ensure clear communication, we translated the form into Bangla. Moreover, we performed rigorous beta testing to check for accuracy, logic, and usability before deployment.
3. Phone Survey Strategy Development
To guide the project, this transport consultancy firm developed a comprehensive phone survey plan. This strategic roadmap outlined our approach for contacting respondents and managing strict schedules. Consequently, we met data collection goals efficiently while maintaining high ethical standards.
4. Personnel Recruitment & Training
To execute the plan, AIR Ltd hired skilled phone survey operators. We selected the team based on their strong communication skills and deep understanding of SP methods. Afterward, we provided comprehensive training sessions focusing on ethical guidelines and technical troubleshooting.
5. Survey Piloting & Quality Control
Before the full launch, we conducted a pilot survey to test our readiness. This critical step allowed our research firm to identify potential improvements. As a result, the operators became fully confident in handling the live data collection.
6. Logistics & Operations Management

8. Conducting the Phone-Based SP Survey
Finally, our survey firm successfully conducted the phone-based SP survey with 400 respondents across Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Narsingdi. Using the gathered data, we analyzed the respondents’ willingness to switch to improved bus services based on cost and travel time.
